Happy Birthday Grandma Claxton

My grandma, Retha Claxton in northern Indiana is 84 today. Eighty-four years old.  She's come a long way in her days.

Grandma and Grandpa got married when Grandma was a ripe old age of 16.  She had five kids.  My dad was her only son.

Today, Grandma's going shopping for a new TV, going to get out for a special dinner, and back home to get some TV-time in.

I waited as long as I could to call and wish her a happy birthday, and thankfully, didn't wake her up.  But I also was the first to wish her a great day and tell her how much I love her.  She's my only remaining grandparent and someone I remain as close to as I can be, given the distance between Texas and Indiana.

For those of you reading out there, even if it's not his or hers birthday and they're still around to do so, call your grandparent and tell them how much you love 'em.  They'll love you for it.   If they've already gone on ahead of us,  just say a little prayer on their behalf.  God will love you  for it,  too.
