This is Auburn Football

An old friend sent me this, actually posted it as well on Facebook.  Good stuff.

A group for members of the Auburn family,
who count down the days until kickoff, who call autumn 'football
weather', who understand the importance of the LSU game each year, not
georgia or bama, who live to beat the other school in the Iron Bowl,
who bleed Orange and Blue.

THIS is AUBURN Football!

It is John Heisman.

It is Pat Dye.

It is Cliff Hare.

It is Shug Jordan.

It is now Tommy Tuberville.

It is having the number 8 best college football player of all time, Bo Jackson, according to ESPN.

It is knowing that no matter how bad your day is, its still better to bleed Orange and Blue than Crimson.

It is hearing the complaints from all the fans of “the other school" for the last 6 years, and many more to come.

It is the Deep South‘s Oldest Rivalry.

It is the 2nd best rivalry in ALL of sports.

It is the Iron Bowl.

It is naming your children and pets after former AUBURN players and coaches.

It is living for the fall.

It is seeing strangers greeting you with a "WAR EAGLE," any time, or any place across the world.

It is walking by Buckingham Palace, in London, wearing an AUBURN shirt, hearing someone yell "WAR EAGLE" to you.

It is having respect for anyone you see wearing AUBURN attire, or anything in relation to AUBURN.

It is traveling to the game and passing cars, having the passengers wave at you and giving you the thumbs up.

It is the cars lined up, miles and miles down the road traveling to the game, just as you are.

is the feeling of anticipation as you enter into the biggest and most
exciting town during the college football season, seeing tailgaters
lined up down the street, miles and miles away from the football

It is making friends with every stranger you run across tailgating.

is being at the games along with over 86,000 people, all cheering for
the same team you do, and it's the feeling of being with over 86,000 of
the nicest and most mutual fans you'll find anywhere.

It is
after the games, thousands, millions almost seeming, of people parading
the streets, all slapping you high five's and giving you "WAR EAGLE."

is leaving the games and traveling home, stopping at gas stations all
over the state, and fans yelling "WAR EAGLE" and coming up and chatting
with you about the game we all just witnessed.

It used to be
about hearing Jim Fyfe call an AUBURN game, and his legendary
“TOUCHDOWN AUBURN." Now it is about hearing Rod Bramlett call the games.

It is Junior Rosegreen demolishing the UGA receiver over the middle at Jordan-Hare in 04.

is about watching AUBURN block Florida's punt and watching Tre Smith
flip into the endzone, and then go into a state of euphoria.

is about knowing that AUBURN has an overall winning percentage, in all
sports, of something close to 75% over the school from down the road.

It is the desire to beat the other school at any competitive event that exists.

It is about Tiger Walk.

It is the band playing at Tiger Walk.

It is having enough pride to fight for your school but having enough class not to.

It is cheering the same amount for a first down on second and 6 as on fourth and 1.

is about “Eye of the Tiger" blaring over the loud speaker as smoke
fills the air with the AUBURN TIGERS running onto the field.

It is about the eagle that flies around the stadium while everyone is yelling “WAR EAGLE" and watching it land.

It is determining who you are going to date & marry by which team they swear allegiance to.

It is destroying Tennessee 34-10 in Knoxville and then watching your Tigers beat the Vols in the SEC title game in 04.

It is having pride that AUBURN knows that Bear Bryant is dead, because the other school does not.

It is right behind God and family.

It is watching Jason Campbell connect with Courtney Taylor on a 4th-and-12, and later on a 3rd-and-long situation to beat LSU.

It is "Punt Bama Punt"

It is cool crisp autumn Saturdays where you can smell football in the air and feel it whenever there is a slight breeze.

It is knowing that bama has feared “The Thumb" and they now will be fearing "The Other Hand!"

It is about having not one but two Heisman trophy winners, when the other school has none.

It is hearing Jim Fyfe call the “Bo Over the Top" play against bama in 1982.

It is winning the 1st game ever played in The Plains 30-20.

It is about having the best home field advantage, according to many preseason publications.

It is knowing how many days until the start of a season year around.

It is walking around campus on game day with a great feeling.

It is about knowing that AUBURN was by far the best team in the whole country in 04.

It is about knowing the Bear is dead.

is hearing the Auburn University Marching Band and how they do not need
a gay nickname for people unfamiliar with the school to remember the
bands name.

It is about watching Kenny Irons break literally about 7 tackles in a 70 something yard touchdown run at LSU in 05.

It is almost coming to tears whenever AUBURN loses to ANYONE.

It is Bo Over the Top, The Pass, and Sack Lunch.

It is watching your team sack the other‘s QB 11 different times in a game.

It is beating the #4 Florida Gators in the Swamp, while being a 3 touchdown underdog.

is not needing an alarm clock on game days, you sit bolt upright in the
bed long before the alarm goes off because you know that it is a game
day, you can sleep after the game.

It is walking into a stadium
and knowing AUBURN will win the game no matter who they are playing
because is just the way it is supposed to be.

It is the saying "Offense wins games, Defense wins national titles."

It is about the AUBURN family.

It is getting to the stadium hours before the game just to be there.

It is walking into another team's stadium and having those fans hate you because you are from AUBURN.

It is the pride that a father has when he brings his children to a game so they may cherish the tradition.

It is the long reverse run by wide receiver Ben Obamanu to put AUBURN on top 7-0 over bama in 05.

It is beating LSU in Baton Rouge.

It is beating UGA in Athens.

It is OWNING bama in Tuscaloosa.

It is hearing the crunch as a linebacker dressed in Orange and Blue hits Brodie Croyle again.

It is the pride you take in being every team's rival.

It is pulling for any team that is playing LSU.

It is pulling for any team that is playing bama.

It is singing Rammer Jammer to the Tide after another inevitable loss to AUBURN.

It is being the classiest fans in the whole entire sports world.

It is knowing that the SEC Championship is a given.

It is being respected and feared at the same time.

It is holding up four fingers at the end of the third quarter.

It is sacking Brodie 11 different times.

It is "The Jungle"

It is Jordan-Hare Stadium.

It is knowing that you have owned teams from the top 10 in the last 6 years.

It is knowing that an AUBURN win can overcome anything trials in life.

It is more than can ever mentioned in this list.

It is class.

It is tradition.
