Why he calls himself, “The Timberlander?”

For months on end, Donald J. Claxton and his 9yo Great Pyrenees pup, Maycee, hang out on 40 acres in the UP of Michigan.

The land is covered with various kinds of timber.

While tent camping on his family’s land, Donald J. practices off-grid living, woodworking, and forestry management. He also uses his woodworking and woodcarving skills to support himself while living off-the-grid.
