@momspective, Julie Maloney, a lion at heart

I don’t know if you know Julie Maloney, aka @Momspective, but if you don’t, and you can tolerate in your face hilarity and sometimes vulgarity with style, well, scratch that last part, if you can tolerate … not sure what … you’ll love Julie.

Julie Maloney at EA SPORTS Active Retreat, April 2009

She makes me laugh.  She’s written stuff that’s brought me to tears, too.  Well, from laughing.  Jeez.  I’m not that kinda guy.

Today she’s writing about her father’s influence on her life.  It’s pretty poignant.  And I don’t remember any bad words or things of that sort.

“Every year growing up I got my father something lion related.  He never once told me that I was going overboard with the lion gifts and to this day his office is filled with every single thing I got him ranging from calendars to lion figurines.  I think I even bought him lion apparel which he proudly wore….

“…This post is for my father.  His love for the lion and his dedication and support over the years to encourage me to write is the reason I not only share the same love for the animal, but I credit his artistic gene for passing my gift of writing down to me.”

Here, read it.  You’ll like it.  I did.

(BTW: If you want to see “more” of this picture, shoot me $10 a pop…. It’ll all go to charity… that or to pay medical bills for when she kills me.)

Donald J. Claxton is
‘The Timberlander’

Hello, I’m Donald J.

I refer to myself as “The Timberlander” because I love off-grid living and woodworking.

My Great Pyrenees, Maycee, and I enjoy spending our time in the woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

In the UP, I craft, make, grow, run, carve, and generate:

  • Custom crosses
  • Timber frame shelters
  • A garden
  • My water
  • Basswood figurines and ornaments
  • My own power

Check out my crafts for sale in The Timberlander’s Treasures.
