The Dallas Morning News Features the Maya Calendar

The Dallas Morning News Features Claxton Creative & The Maya Calendar

The Dallas Morning News  just featured our book for iPad on their website in a comical post where we asked all the media in our reach this morning to at least ensure that they’re using the right Maya Calendar and not the Aztec Calendar Stone.

One of thes we’ve noted here time and again is how Google brings up the Aztec Calendar Stone when one searches for the Maya Calendar instead of the Maya Calendar.  So, we sent out an email this morning just saying, “If your art department doesn’t bring you something like this today and calls it the Maya Calendar, they’ve probably got it wrong.”

What does the Maya Calendar look like?

This is an actual image of the Maya Calendar. It's not round or made of rock at all. The one most erroneously posted in its place is the Aztec Calendar, made hundreds of years later.

Donald J. Claxton is
‘The Timberlander’

Hello, I’m Donald J.

I refer to myself as “The Timberlander” because I love off-grid living and woodworking.

My Great Pyrenees, Maycee, and I enjoy spending our time in the woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

In the UP, I craft, make, grow, run, carve, and generate:

  • Custom crosses
  • Timber frame shelters
  • A garden
  • My water
  • Basswood figurines and ornaments
  • My own power

Check out my crafts for sale in The Timberlander’s Treasures.
